Hi

Hello Alumni new & old, and welcome to the first issue of the St Andrews Trampoline & Gymnastics Club newsletter! My name is Gavin and this year I am filling the newly created position of Sponsorship & Alumni Coordinator, and it’s my job to update you on every interesting thing the club has done this semester. We’ve been to competitions, held socials, and more. Also, stay tuned for information about the Alumni Festival Weekend in April. – Gavin

Competitions

We’re a pretty small and relaxed club, but we aim to send as many people to competitions as possible. We went to 4 competitions this semester, winning medals every time, with more surely coming next semester.

Socials

It’s the beginning of a new year, so the first event was the (Olympic themed) Trampoline & Gymnastics Welcome Party. Participants were split between 4 teams – USA, GB, China, and Russia – and each given an athlete to dress up as. Just like the real Olympics, China won but everyone had a great time.

In November, club members took part in a “Roman Murder Mystery Toga Party”. The mystery was almost solved by Gabi who had narrowed it down to 3 people, although by that point everyone else was ready to leave to go into town.

We also had a pub crawl based off the SSS tarif points system, board games and film nights, as well as our Halloween and Christmas bounce sessions. We finished off the year with a Christmas meal at the Byre

Other News

Alumni Festival Weekend

This year we will be taking part in the St Andrews Alumni Festival Weekend. Preperations are underway to make this a great event – make sure to clear your calendars April 14-16! We will be sending out an email as soon as the details are confirmed.

Local Sponsorship

We now have a new local sponsor in St Andrews – the Byre Theatre. They’re been great to us, letting us have our EGM and any other meetings we want there, as well as a Christmas meal.

Coaches

Megan, Jamie, Emily, and Gabi have all passed their UKCC Level 1/2 coaching courses – a full list of coaches is on the website: sautc.club.

Committee Members

After an EGM in September, we now have a new committee position – Alumni and Coorporate Sponsorship Coordinator- and four new members: Alexa Lednickey, Gavin Sandford, Izzy Clark, and Iona Chisholm.

Sponsorship

The club is now looking for sponsors! This is a great way for a company to get their name out there in St Andrews and at competitions, as well as supporting a small sports club. If you happen to be in a job position where you are able to suggest the idea of sponsorship to your boss, or if you know your company is looking, please get in touch by emailing trampoline@saints-sport.com. Thank you 🙂

Donate

If you want to support the club over Christmas, we would gratefully accept your donation using the link below, and selecting Trampoline & Gymnastics. https://sparc.st-andrews.ac.uk/giving/sports/sports-clubs
